Whitewater Preserve

Whitewater Canyon Preserve offers many trails designed for any level. You can connect to the Pacific Coast Trail  which will take you north to Canada or south to Mexico. Of course there are plenty good hikes close by.

There is a nice park with shady trees and a kids pond for cooling off. The hills are spectacular during wildflower season. Parking is free, but they do have fees for overnight camping. For more information check their website.

Always check the hills above the preserve which is a great place to spot bighorn sheep. You can also spot deer, mountain lions and bear. Keep and eye out as you hike, especially during the summer, for rattlesnakes.

During summer months it is extra important to bring plenty of water and to get here early for hiking the longer trails.
